Big Brother 12 Week 3 :: Groundhog Season
First off let me start by saying I apologize for missing last week’s Eviction Prediction; due to an unfortunate death in the family the same week as I was trying to move to San Diego I was overwhelmed and unable to write. However, let me point out it don’t really matter: does it seem like we are seeing the SAME season again?
Ok, to catch you up if you aren’t watching, Annie went home and was the saboteur (oops BB, kinda early for you to shoot your wad, if I may use a term from my new industry; we get sent home from the set for that.) Rachel became HOH, put up Monet and Britney, Britney won POV and Matt went up on the block as a pawn to get Monet out. Matt got called out on it by Rachel, who made the deal with him in the first place, in a ridiculous ’House Meeting’ which totally backfired. Monet ended up getting evicted Thursday, rapidly stormed out of the BB house as if it were a rat infested roach motel... wait... it is! Then we witnessed the houseguests survive an endurance competition riding surfboards to not only win HOH, but also decide their fate as Have/HaveNots.
Now you’re all caught up, so lets surf through this week and see whats happening. The girls of the house were all off their surfboards fast, I think mostly to avoid being a Have Not - come on girls, where is your staying power? It came down to a dual between Ragan and Matt - they have a little private discussion and I’m not sure, but I think Ragan quit on purpose so that Matt could become the new HOH. Um Brenden and Rachel, you should really be scared right now; but of course as every season seems to show, the people everyone wants out of the house never get sent out of the house. I am going to be honest: I’m not a fan of B and R, they are what I like to call "Cuddly Gross" that obnoxious I’m-so-in-love-with-you-and-can’t-stop-gushing-over-you-even-though-I’ve-only-known-you-a-week phenomenon. It was cute when Jeff and Jordan did it, but y’all just made me throw up a little in my mouth.
Some time passed (yawn) and a little non-mentionable blah, blah, blah ensued, everyone should rest assured that the cuddly gross couple is certain to get split up now, but NOT... Matt, in that endearing BB unspoken rule of thumb called "don’t ever do what you ought to do," puts neither Branden or Rachel on the block cause he is gonna back door Brenden (MATT, THAT NEVER WORKS, HAVE YOU SEEN THE SHOW BIG BROTHER?) Matt decided instead to put Kathy and Andrew on the block, even telling Andrew that he is just a pawn, making what was a floater into his enemy. Now Kathy is mad at him, Andrew is mad at him, Brenden and Rachel figure out the backdoor plan and are mad at him, and his Brigade, for not taking their advice, is mad at him. Dude, Matt, even George W had some supporters, you’re going down faster then Lindsey Lohan at an All You Can Eat Prescription Drug Buffet.
Of course, in the spirit of the movie "Groundhog Day" (same sh*t, new season) Matt’s plan turned into a complete failure when Brenden won the POV comp. Cut to the POV ceremony in which we got to enjoy the two dumbest ’Why I should be taken of the Block’ speeches ever. I think that Kathy thought she was using some kind of reverse psychology by saying "don’t take me off the block" and then Andrew uttered the ever-effective "I’m coming to get you Brenden, now take me of the block." I’m sorry, but to quote my favorite TV personality ever, Karen Walker, "What’s going on here, what’s happening, what’s this all about?" Andrew, you just basically told the whole house that you have a secret alliance with Brenden and now your floater status has been revoked; please return your Floater Card to the Front Desk and pack your bags.
So, where does this leave us for the eviction? Well if I had my choice I would vote both of them out for being what I like to call, exotically, "stupid." But that won’t happen, so I’m gonna say that Andrew is probably going to end up staying and Kathy will go home. In my opinion Kathy is basically a nobody in the house, she hasn’t really made any close friends or created controversy and as a true wild card. she’s liable to be axed. Tune in to CBS on Thursday night to see what’s going to happen and if you wanna hear my immediate comic release you can always follow me on twitter #stevenfrombb10 where I spill my guts in real time.
